The Danbury News-Times published a opinion piece on April 25 noting the Danbury's Head Start program is among the highest-scoring programs of its kind in the country. The paper notes that given the great need for early childhood education and the high quality of the local Head Start, it is disturbing that the Danbury Board of Education is considering reducing a requested $585,000 contribution by $195,000, with the intent of phasing out city support entirely in three years.
