Open Letter to the Governor and Legislature

The CT Early Childhood Alliance issued an open letter to Governor Jodi Rell and the General Assembly, noting that with each passing day of the budget impasse, early care and education programs, like Head Start, Family Resource Centers and School Readiness are being forced to remove children from their rolls or risk financial collapse. The letter also asks that all direct-service early childhood programs are kept whole, whether in a negotiated budget or, in lieu of a budget, in the September monthly allotment and that programs be compensated for services rendered and costs incurred but not reimbursed in July and August.
