Abstract:
CT Voices for Children has released a proposed budget comparison as it relates to early care and education. The document includes both the FY 2009-2010 and FY 2010-2011 budget proposals. It includes Governor Rell's original budget figure for programs like Care4Kids, State-Funded Centers, School Readiness (both priority and competitive school districts), State Head Start, Family Resource Centers, DSS School Readiness, Birth to Three, the Early Childhood Advisory Cabinet, early literacy and others. Please view the pdf file below. Keep in mind, these are still proposals. The category entitled most recent is the budget that was passed Thursday by the Senate and the House was expected to take it up on Friday, June 26. It is likely that budget, if adopted by both the House and Senate, could be vetoed by the Governor. All numbers are subject to change. Thank you to Cyd Oppenheimer and Tamara Kramer of CT Voices for Children for the analysis!
