Abstract:
Few long-term studies offer proof of the benefits of an AVERAGE preschool program. But if you're talking about high-quality programming, the academic edge for children in this type of programming endures at least through fifth grade, including higher vocabulary skills. For disadvantaged children attending high-quality programs, several studies show they can benefit into adulthood, including higher college attendence and income.
