Family Development Credential & Training Program (FDC) CLASS IS FULL!

This is an 80-hour, community-based, comprehensive skill building training for everyone who works with families. Empowerment Skills for Family Workers shifts the focus from a traditional deficit model of working with families, to a model that supports family strengths and promotes family oriented goals. Earn your FDC credential from the University of Connecticut Center for Culture, Health and Development Complete the 80-hour training Complete a portfolio compiled of your experience using skills from the curriculum Pass the FDC exam The FDC credential is offered to participants from Nurturing Families Network at a reduced rate of $50.00 per participant. This FDC program is offered by the Children’s Trust Fund, a division of the Department of Social Services. Start Date- Sept 12, 2012 and it will be held EVERY OTHER Wednesday Time: 9am – 4pm It will run from Sept 12th - March 28th, 2013, total of 15 weeks (there are a few weeks during the holidays that we go 2 weeks without class) Location - Norwalk, CT location TBA (Note confirmation will be sent w/ location) To register: Facilitators: Christine Campbell & Monica D’Aura **Any questions contact Christine at CCampbell@familycenters.org Go to www.ct.gov/ctf At the bottom of the page click on “register” Complete the fields to register as a user on the website. You will create your own user name and password Once you are registered as a user go to the home page and at the bottom of the page click on “log in” Log in using your newly created user name and password Click on the calendar on the left side of the home page Go to the month (September) and date (12)/event (Norwalk FDC) At the bottom of the FDC retreat page click “register” Next page, click “register” again to confirm you registration.
