HB-5306 AN ACT CONCERNING THE OPERATION OF CHILD DAY CARE CENTERS AND GROUP DAY CARE HOMES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, to provide an exemption from the Department of Public Health's physical plant regulatory requirements to child day care centers and group day care homes that operate in public school buildings and exclusively serve school-age children. SB-53 AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO NOTIFY NONCUSTODIAL PARENTS OF CERTAIN ABUSE AND NEGLECT INVESTIGATIONS, to require the Department of Children and Families to provide notification to a noncustodial parent of abuse or neglect investigations involving the custodial parent. SB-239 AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONTINUATION OF DAY CARE SUBSIDIES TO UNEMPLOYED WORKERS, to allow individuals who are eligible to receive unemployment compensation benefits to continue to receive child care subsidy benefits after losing their job so they are able to look for a new employment position. SB-264 AN ACT PROHIBITING SMOKING IN LICENSED CHILD CARE FACILITIES, to protect children in licensed child care facilities from the dangers of second hand smoke. SB-269 AN ACT IMPLEMENTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PROGRAM REVIEW AND INVESTIGATIONS COMMITTEE CONCERNING AN INITIATIVE TO SHARE AGENCY DATA AND PROMOTE THE WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, to implement the recommendations of the Legislative Program Review and Investigations Committee concerning an initiative to share agency data to promote the well-being of children and families. HB-5013 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CATASTROPHIC MEDICAL EXPENSES POOL, to create a catastrophic medical expenses pool to help defray children's medical and related expenses that exceed a threshold percentage of family income for children who are insured but have catastrophic medical expenses.
